These are pretty self explanatory & the authors involved are pretty much tied to contracts to pump out the same top selling novel one after the other but sometimes it’s nice to be challenged (ish) Listed are some books of authors I have read & I highlighted the best one from each author
John Grisham
Sadly enough, I think his best book was the first one he had authored. He broke away from the courtroom drama with some story about a farm boy in ‘a painted house’ but ugh, much like the cotton growing in the book, it was slow.
• A Time to Kill •
If you were to choose one book from this series, it would be the best one. They changed the ending for the movie so audiences would be more sympathetic to the protagonist but as a whole the movie was kind of cheesey so am unsure if I liked that.
- The Client
- The Firm
- Runaway Jury
Steven King
Actually I do not read a lot of Stephen King. Never was one for horror books. May try reading the Shining.
• The Green Mile •
Movie was true to book. Good, clean, quick read.
- The Stand
Haven’t finished. Mostly because I picked up a collectors edition that threw 350 pages back in (I get it. Everyone is sick)
James Patterson
• Kiss the Girls •
I read this before Along Came a Spider & is the only one that feels original. Like the quick chapters and the story moves along
- Along Came a Spider
- Jack & Jill
- Roses are Red
Tami Hoag
Don’t like her books much as nothing seems to happen for 3/4′s and then BOOM it all comes together in the last 50 pages & you feel like you’re racing through the ending.
• A Thing Dark Line •
- Night Sins
- Guilty as Sin
