Not end up 2 blocks from your apartment.

Not just 2 nights ago I blogged for the week (for those of you that think I sit daily, you are sorely mistaken as I blog once a week & schedule the posts) and wrote about my final night in Vegas back in May and how I met a guy named Roy from Calgary.

Cut to last night. I was having drinks with some networking people and I decided to go home as I had some work to tend to last night. Still early. Only 8pm. However, did think a bottle of wine was necessary as any work past 9pm should include libations. I grabbed a cab from Gastown &  decided to avoid the downtown & instructed the cab to go up denman. Of course it is summer and Denman is a congested mess of cars. I decided that $10 was enough & I was only a few blocks from home. I hopped out & continued to walk.

I pass by the Calling pub on the corner of Denman & Davie. For those that don’t know, this is a Donnelly owned pub so therefore black in decoration. Not to super big as it probably sits 40. However, there are windows that open right onto the street and have booths lined along those windows which overlook English Bay.. yes, it is nice as well, there is one booth that is in the corner (probably because it is odd shaped) that isn’t so much a booth but just a comfy couch to sit & look straight out at the water. OF COURSE, as I walk by, I like to check out who is sitting not only on the Milestones patio but at the calling and that’s when I saw him

I saw roy.  I am almost tempted to write the entire fb story on here as to why it is so shocking to see him… However, i stop in my tracks & with a gaping mouth stare at him.

He of course is talking to a girl so I wait just long enough for him to make eyes with me (I’m standing right in front of him). He is speaking. When he sees me, he pauses for a moment and keeps on with his conversation.

I raced home to look up the number of the pub because I so wanted to order a corona and have it sent over to his table but alas, the only number listed was that of the office (boo).  I also wasn’t so inclined to walk BACK to the pub & do it in person as that kind of defeats the point of mystery.

Kdog wanted me to send a corona & a bottle of lube over. I figured.. hey! it’s the west end. I figure anything is possible.
