Was out at my Bobblehead’s event this evening.. nothing like a good Kegger to start off a fundraising season for kids…
We do a lot of events over the course of the year w/ the majority of them concentrated in the next several months. One is our annual theme party, another is our annual wine raffle (woo hoo) and lastly and most close to my heart, as I co-chair, is the Bachelor & Bachelorette Auction.
Each year has it’s own personality for sure. Three years ago the guys were stiff & the women rocked the show. Last year we had a room full of ‘that guy’ and they were competing for attention. This year, I think we have even already filled the female roster and we have 1 guy. Only one guy….. at least he’s hot.
Anyways, tonight was a low key affair. Although, I was itching. I yelled out to my girls Shaloah & KLZ, that it was indeed “little Friday” when I showed up but due to slow service (we had a keg donated to us and we held the event at Original Joes on Broadway), I tuckered out and they pooped the bench they were sitting on with such things like “I have an early meeting…” I want to point out that argument holds no weight with them when I use it (Yes, I’m talking about you KLZ) However, this is all good seeing as I need to finish a Trade show booth tomorrow morning.
So I’m home or was home at a good hour & managed to check my site stats as I always do. I’m always interested to know who is reading my blog and what I want really want to know is………

K>>>>> it’s late, I need to go to bed. I need to go to work tomorrow. This is the reason I suck & haven’t written as I’ve been stressed. Working for myself is prematurely aging me & the gray hair, I swear is starting to spread but that is honestly nothing anyone wants to know about. However, I am considering using the eye cream that was given to me 2 years ago. I wonder if that has a shelf life?
Another thing is that I’m gearing up for gong show Saturday. It’s Stine’s birthday and she’s turning DIRTY THIRTY.. so it should be good. We’re heading to the Wicklow which makes me happy b/c I can aqua bus there. HOwever, I’ve noticed since Bruce & I have parted ways (thank you for the condolences Warren), Leanimal has been doing a little growling.. I think having a boyfriend somewhat tamed me and I became, well….. lame.
I have a year to catch up. A couple of weeks ago there was a girls nite at Parker’s house and am proud to say I stayed up til 5am. The daylight savings time did play a small role but nonetheless I punched through. To think all these years, I had been going to bed early when I could have been drinking red bull. The only problem with that was I drank the red bull and 5am rolls around & I’m still manically bouncing. Haven’t quite figured out the balance yet.
I’m also not going to lie about going home and using the excuse of I’m tired. I also go home because I’m bored. Sometimes, I weigh my options: talk to the annoying drunk guy who is spitting on me ORRRRRRRR get poutine, curl on the couch & catch weekend update on TV.
Fortunately, now, I’m alone & hating it so will stay out to the bitter end.. YEY! Perhaps what I really need is a vacation. As in all cases in the past, when I end things with someone, I try to flee the city. In the past I have gone to Vegas, Edmonton, Calgary, Europe, Houseboating… all within weeks of the ending and I gotta admit….. it helps. I haven’t planned it this round. Scammy & I had tentatively planned to go to Hawaii in May but last week, I texted her & said: Fck Hawaii…. Let’s go to Vegas!!!!!
She has yet to return my call… just because I almost got arrested once doesn’t mean it would happen a second time…. almost.
